Scott Omlo (b. 1996) currently lives and works in Cornwall. He received a BFA in Fine Art from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2018. Exhibitions include The Crypt Gallery, London (2017) and Penlee House Gallery, Penzance (2014).
In the work, a surface lends itself to the possibility of an imminent failure. A painting is brought to life through a figuring-out, accident-prone activity.
Autobiography and History gives the paint direction.
Through force becomes form. All is a chase, a pursuit for some kind of appearance.
My concern is in the making; the what if. To reduce is to hope for clarity. (Reduce! Reduce! Reduce!)
I will, eventually, walk away.
