Sophie Edwards is a painter and sculptor from Suffolk. She is currently based in London. Sophie works with clay, plaster, metal and ready-made material to form ornamental objects and large scale assemblages. Her paintings play with surface and pattern, often depicting simplistic landscapes and nonsense creatures. Since studying Painting at Edinburgh College of Art she was selected to exhibit at the Royal Scottish Academy’s New Contemporaries 2018 exhibition. Here she was awarded the Chalmers-Jervis Prize.
